The Grove

This rear and side extension was designed for a family who loved their home and its location but had simply outgrown the available space. Rather than relocating, they chose to invest in their property and create a home that better supported their long-term needs.

The extension provides a generous new living space, improving the connection between the home and garden while creating a more practical layout for everyday family life. Particular attention was given to ensuring the new accommodation felt like a natural continuation of the existing house, both internally and externally.

One of the most interesting aspects of the project was the roof design. The flat roof incorporates a series of stepped levels, carefully detailed to respond to the existing building and neighbouring properties. This required a considered technical approach, particularly where the new structure connected into the adjoining property's flat roof, resulting in a solution that was both practical and visually integrated.

The completed extension has transformed the way the family use their home, providing the additional space they needed while allowing them to remain in the neighbourhood they enjoy. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design and technical detailing can unlock the potential of an existing property without compromising its character.
