The Rye

My clients, a young couple, have recently purchased their lovely new home in the heart of Edinburgh.

It’s a period property (my favourite!) and while it’s a beautiful home, the décor is outdated, the floor plan isn’t working for them and they have an amazing loft space above – prime for a beautiful loft conversion!

Kicking things off with the 2nd floor (it’s a maisonette), the loft is a great space with plenty of head room, but the roof starts to slop quite quickly.

We’ve positioned the stairs in the middle of the loft so the hallway and stairs feel spacious with 2 new large bedrooms and a large bathroom comfortably fitting in the loft space.

Because my clients are essentially removing a large storage area (the loft), I’m building in loads of clever storage in all the rooms so the all-important ironing board, brooms, shoes etc. can all be hidden away but easily accessed when needed.

The 1st floor, which is the main living level will have a brand new Kitchen / Dining area, a new utility and redecoration throughout.

This project is in the early stages of concept designs so stay tuned for more updates!
